Stamp combination with the least overpay
Denominations can be mixed on any mailing — Canada Post only checks that the stamps in the corner add up to the price. Enter how many of each denomination you have (old stamps included) and the finder works out the combination with the least overpay. One special case: a Permanent™ stamp is credited at $1.24, today's basic domestic rate.
The short version
A standard letter within Canada costs $1.24 (one Permanent™ stamp from a booklet) up to 30 g, or $1.44 with a single stamp from the counter. To the USA it's $1.75, and to most other countries $3.65. Heavier or thicker mail costs more — the full tables are on the rates page.
Canada Post last changed letter rates on January 13, 2025, and did not raise them in 2026. Everything on this site uses those rates, before tax, and was verified in October 2026.

Good to know
Are old stamps still good?Yes. Permanent™ stamps are always worth the current domestic rate, even if you bought them years ago for less. Older fixed-value stamps still count at their printed value, and any mix can be combined.
What makes a letter "oversize"?Anything over 245 × 156 mm, thicker than 5 mm, or over 50 g in a standard envelope. Oversize mail can be up to 380 × 270 × 20 mm and 500 g, and starts at $2.61 within Canada.
Do these prices include tax?No. Canada Post prices exclude GST/HST, which may be added depending on where and how you buy your stamps.
